PEDAL TO THE METAL FOR THOMAS NANTZ
The gift of speed is priceless in for athletes. Twelve year
old Thomas Nantz is known for being one of the fastest kids
on the team in football, basketball and baseball. Thomas
a sixth grader at Community House Middle School is the son
of Richard and Rhonda Nantz. He is always looking for
ways to use his speed to his advantage.
Thomas has played basketball and football for Olde Providence
Recreation Association for many years. In baseball, he wears
the Megastars jersey and patterns his game after Major League
Baseball player Coco Crisp. The Megastars are one of
the top teams in the state and have their goal set on becoming
one of the top teams in the country this season. Thomas and
the team will travel to Cooperstown, NY this summer in hopes
of proving their abilities against some of the top teams
in the country.
“Our team is really looking forward to this season. We
beat a lot of really good teams last year and we are ready
for another good season. Cooperstown is going to be a lot
of fun. I am looking forward to seeing the Baseball
Hall of Fame.”
Thomas is a rarity in baseball, he throws with his right
hand and he bats left handed.
Next school year, Thomas is planning on trying out for all
three of his favorite sports.
“I know it’s going to be hard to make all three
teams as a seventh grader, but I am going to give it my best
shot.”
Thomas always gives it his best shot, so don’t be
surprised to see this speedster achieve his goal of playing
all three sports at Community House as a seventh grader.
