RYAN MANION : TOUGH AS NAILS
“Tough as nails.” Those are the words coaches
use to describe Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School sixth
grader Ryan Manion. The 12 year old son of Mike and
Kelly Manion plays four sports, lacrosse, wrestling, football
and basketball. When asked to list a favorite sport,
football is the choice.
“I like football the most, I like the fact that it
is such a big team sport and it is fun to hit people. I
also feel like it is my best sport.”
Ryan recently completed a successful basketball season at
St. Matthew Catholic Church. The same grit and determination
he shows on the football field came to light on the basketball
court. Ryan could always be found fighting for rebounds and
hustling on the court.
Ryan hopes to continue to play four sports as he moves up
the grade ladder.
“I have a lot of fun playing so many sports and hanging
out with all my friends. I believe that I can become
better at each sport the more I play.”
Ryan also enjoys pulling for his two favorite football teams,
Notre Dame and Texas Christian University, the school of
his favorite player, LaDainian Tomlinson.
Ryan is also a solid student in school. He is a member
of the Honor Roll and works hard in the classroom to bring
home good grades.
Keep an eye on Ryan Manion the next few years; if he continues
to grow and increase his strength, he is sure to become a
key member of the Charlotte Catholic Football team in a few
years.
